The other day my daughter comes up to me and says I drew the silver things on your car.

O great... what did you do?

(in my head) O sweet child of mine, the next words out of your mouth could be the most import words of your live, given that it could end in 5 seconds (i’m joking, come on people)

Kinja'd!!!

what she had actually done was draw the 4 rings with crayon on paper, which made me a lot happy than say, on my door. ( she is 4)

I also got to say hi to this guy:

Kinja'd!!!

The grader looks like it has a face. A little reminescent of Roberto from Futurama. Can’t unsee.

My 2 year old daughter loves “working” on my cars and bikes. I like to encourage it but lately there has been lots of coaching about understanding that a wrench doesn’t do much unless it’s on a nut or bolt(“no you can’t tighten the hood by just rubbing a wrench on it.”)

yea thats what I was thinking, but maybe with a screwdriver. one of them was going to clean my car with a wire brush. i stopped that with about 1/2 an inch to spare.

This reminds me of a story of my brother. My dad got a new truck in ‘93, and we all take my then 3 year old brother out with us for his first camping trip. While camping he’s roaming the campsite near me (6yo). Brother shouts at dad “dad i’m washing your truck.” We quickly realize we’re camping and no water faucets available. Little brother was scrubbing side of passenger door with gravel. Dad never bothered trying to polish that out. Kept that truck running for over 20 years too.

Haha, yes.. The second thing our kids learned; Do not touch anyone elses cars.

First thing; Do not touch our cars.

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch - I was the Dad getting funny looks from everyone as I pulled off our kids muddy shoes and sock before they hopped into the car barefoot.
